Meet Amara Hunter
For more than 30 years, I have dedicated my career to public safety and justice, serving our communities from every side of the courtroom.
As a police officer, I gained experience protecting neighborhoods and supporting victims. I later served as an Assistant Prosecutor, working to hold offenders accountable and uphold the rule of law. Today, I serve as an Assistant Public Defender, ensuring that constitutional rights are protected and that justice is fair, balanced, and applied equally to all.
Effective prosecution requires integrity, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of the real-world impact our decisions have on victims, families, and the community.
As District Attorney, I will work tirelessly to keep Forsyth County safe while ensuring that justice is administered fairly, efficiently, and without political influence.
My commitment to service is rooted in family and community. Forsyth County is our home, and its values guide everything I do.
I am running to bring experience, fairness, and steady leadership to the District Attorney’s Office.
Together, we can build a justice system that protects our community, respects the law, and earns the public’s trust.
I have watched my mother, Amara Hunter, dedicate her life to serving others while also making sacrifices for our family that many people will never see.
While she worked long hours as a prosecutor handling serious and difficult cases, she still found ways to support me throughout my journey playing soccer in high school and college. There were early mornings, late nights, long drives, and countless moments where she balanced the weight of public service with being a loving and committed mother.
What makes my mom special is that she never forgot the human side of the work she did. She fought for victims, stood up for what was right, and carried herself with integrity both inside and outside the courtroom. The same compassion, discipline, and determination she showed our family are the same qualities she brought to serving the community every day.
I know firsthand the sacrifices she made to build a career in public service while raising a family, and I could not be more proud of the example she set for me. Our community deserves someone with her experience, strength, and heart leading as District Attorney.
I am proud to support and endorse my mother, Amara Hunter.

I’ve seen firsthand the sacrifices my mom has made in service to this community. While building a career as a prosecutor focused on protecting victims and holding violent offenders accountable, she was also building a family grounded in hard work, discipline, and commitment.
I played football at every level growing up, and today I have the privilege of coaching college football. The lessons I learned about leadership, preparation, toughness, and accountability are the same qualities my mother has demonstrated throughout her entire career. Long hours, missed family time, and countless difficult cases never stopped her from showing up for victims, for this community, and for our family.
What stands out most about my mother is that she never backed down from hard fights. Whether in the courtroom or at home, she taught us that character matters, service matters, and integrity matters. She believes in discipline, fairness, and protecting people who cannot protect themselves.
Forsyth County deserves a District Attorney who understands accountability, who will fight for public safety, and who has spent a lifetime doing exactly that. I am proud to support my mother, Amara Hunter, for District Attorney because I know her heart, her strength, and her commitment to justice are real
